Marley × Coachella 2012
Marley Carroll / Friday 04.20 / 3:50-4:50 PM / DoLab Stage
West Coast Tour Announced
Marley will be embarking on his first West Coast tour alongside Emancipator and Shigeto, including stops in L.A., San Francisco, and the legendary Doug Fir in Portland. Ticket and venue info for each show can be found on the sidebar.
New Release: Our Chimes / Our Piano Digital 12″
Our Chimes / Our Piano is a brand-new two-track digital 12″ from Marley Carroll. These songs expand on the organic house dynamic that Carroll explored with his remix of Emancipator’s “Bury Them Bones.” These are purely instrumental tracks with slowly-developing themes, where little gestures go a long way. This release will appeal to fans of Four Tet, Gold Panda, and The Field.
Our Chimes / Our Piano is available FREE on November 1, 2011 from Autonomous Music. Get it HERE!
Decibel Festival Wrap-Up
Last weekend I had the honor of kicking off Seattle’s Decibel Festival, an influential and long-running electronic music gathering that featured such luminary acts as Moby, Amon Tobin, Oval, and Bonobo. My set opened the Beat Prodigies showcase at Neumos, alongside Shigeto, AraabMUZIK, and DJ Krush.
There are a few reviews and wrap-ups popping up online – the picture above comes from the Verbicide Magazine blog, and my performance also got a favorable review from Portland’s Tyler Tastemaker. My personal highlights of the evening were getting public props from Ghostly International’s Shigeto as soon as he took the stage, and seeing DJ Krush for the first time.
The rest of the festival was inspiring (daytime panels), exhausting (myriad acts in the evening) and a hell of a good time. I also need to shout out Autonomous’ own Natasha Kmeto for playing, hands-down, one of the best sets of the festival! Expect great things (no pressure).
Thanks again for everyone involved with putting together such a killer weekend! I hope we’ll do it again next year…
B-Side Fridays
Introducing B-Side Fridays.
Every Friday, Marley Carroll will share an previously-unreleased track, accompanied by a photograph from Troy Lehman. Some will be unfinished sketches, some will be old songs, and some will be fully-realized new tunes. We’ll even throw in the occasional remix or extended DJ mix from time to time.
Stay tuned to the Marley Carroll Facebook page and YouTube channel for updates. Every track will be available for free (more…)
