Last weekend I had the honor of kicking off Seattle’s Decibel Festival, an influential and long-running electronic music gathering that featured such luminary acts as Moby, Amon Tobin, Oval, and Bonobo. My set opened the Beat Prodigies showcase at Neumos, alongside Shigeto, AraabMUZIK, and DJ Krush.
There are a few reviews and wrap-ups popping up online – the picture above comes from the Verbicide Magazine blog, and my performance also got a favorable review from Portland’s Tyler Tastemaker. My personal highlights of the evening were getting public props from Ghostly International’s Shigeto as soon as he took the stage, and seeing DJ Krush for the first time.
The rest of the festival was inspiring (daytime panels), exhausting (myriad acts in the evening) and a hell of a good time. I also need to shout out Autonomous’ own Natasha Kmeto for playing, hands-down, one of the best sets of the festival! Expect great things (no pressure).
Thanks again for everyone involved with putting together such a killer weekend! I hope we’ll do it again next year…
